In the city monument reserve in Cheb, in the former pub U Kata (At the Executioner), you will find the Cheb Numismatic Museum. The first private numismatic museum in the Czech Republic offers a permanent exhibition of Prague Groschen as well as thematic exhibitions of numismatic collections.
Cheb was one of the few cities in history that the monarch allowed to mint its own currency. The permanent exhibition includes, among others, coins from the period from 1300, when Wenceslas II began minting groschens, to the reign of Ferdinand I.
