The Karlovy Vary Symphony Orchestra is embarking on its 192nd concert season. It ranks among the oldest symphony orchestras in the world and serves as a cornerstone of cultural life in this spa town. It was founded in 1835 by the composer, violinist, and conductor Josef Labitzky. A significant milestone in the orchestra's history was the continental premiere of Antonín Dvořák’s *New World Symphony*, performed at the Poštovní dvůr (Postal Court) on July 20, 1894.
The orchestra organizes symphony, chamber, and colonnade concerts, as well as music festivals such as "Dvořák’s Karlovy Vary Autumn" and "Beethoven Days." It frequently collaborates with renowned Czech and international soloists and conductors.
