Karlovy Vary Observatory

We offer astronomical programmes for the wide public. The observatory works with the biggest telescope in the Karlovy Vary region studying meteors and carrying out radio astronomy research.

INFORMATION FOR VISITORS

Thank you for your interest in the programs of the Karlovy Vary Observatory. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to regularly offer programs in foreign languages. All our programs are in the Czech language.
If you would still be interested in visiting, it is necessary to make an appointment in advance by sending a message (SMS, Whatsapp, Signal) to +420 777 953 421 or email hvezdarna [emailtecka] kvseznam [emailtecka] cz (hvezdarna[dot]kv[at]seznam[dot]cz). We will try to accommodate you.

You can visit the programs with your translator, who can interpret the interpretation for you in your language. 
In the event that another group is not booked for the program, we can try to translate the interpretation for you using the application. In this case, however, it is not possible to hold a program for both Czech and foreign groups of visitors at the same time.

If you find a suitable interpreter for your visit, you can also take a simulated space flight from our Karlovy Vary cosmodrome, from where we launch all missions in the Czech language for the time being. This simulator is built by the observatory's employees in their free time, which is why we don't have it in foreign language versions yet.
