A ministerial castle from the time of Staufen emperors is one of the reminders of historical specificities of the region of Chef.
However, a later Maierhof has been first of all a popular tourist destination for more than hundred years. Today it offers its visitors the biggest exhibition of the unique folk culture of the region which is called Egerland.
