The Romanesque castle, originally a water castle, ranks as one of the oldest castles in Bohemia. It has been in private hands since 1999.
You can find here a Romanesque chapel – the oldest part of the castle - the first record about it dates from 1166. Further the Royal Hall – the most important room where prominent visits used to be received, banquets were held and important documents were signed – or the knight Helmfeld’s bedroom.
You can also visit the Museum of Firefighting Equipment or the Museum of Judiciary in Vildštejn and in prison.
With the Karlovy VARY REGION CARD, you can also satisfy your hunger at advantageous prices in the medieval-style restaurant Hodovna or buy souvenirs.
